Having a traditional fireplace is great because it offers us the heat we need to warm our home. -but it also requires a whole lot of cleaning that we do not have time for. Because of this many of us will try to use a fireplace design that is easier to use and to maintain. One common type is the cast iron fireplace. This is a type of stand alone outdoor fireplace that is used as a fireplace insert. It comes in a variety of sizes and designs that may be used with different types of fuel sources.

There are many advantages that you have to consider when trying to make the decision of whether or not you wish to use this design. The first is how durable and sturdy it is. It is able to work for years with the proper maintenance and with very little problems during that time. It is not easily chopped and does not often have problems that most stand alone fireplace have. This allows it to look decorative even when it is not being used.

Another advantage is how diversified it is. It can use wood or gas depending on whether you wish to use it inside or outside of the home. They have the ability to burn wood in the same way as brick and mortar fireplaces. This helps to provide your patio with something that has a great design to it and provides you with much needed warmth.

If you spend a little bit more money you will be able to use the ones that are designed with gas jets or are powered with electricity. These are ideal for people who do not have the time or the desire to clean ash and debris. You can place fake logs inside of the fireplace to simulate the look of a real fire for the ambience but not as much warmth.

The cast iron fireplace design can be found in a variety of sizes and designs to help make your patio more appealing. These can cost between $30 to $300 providing you with the ambience and added warmth during the fall and winter months. The smaller units are so compact that you can literally bring them with you on your camping trip or use them for smaller patios.

The larger units help to warm up much larger areas and are often placed inside of a fire put. They can be rather simple with clean and straight lines for a more neutral appearance. You can also find them with decorative accents and scrollwork that help to add some type of decorative appearance to your patio.
